Al Hayat is a religious TV channel that originates from Algeria. The religious channel is also known as ‘Life TV’ and is aired to the Middle East, Canada, America, and Australia and to some parts in Europe. A highly Arabic religious channel began broadcasting in September 2003, Al Hayat Channel is evangelical in its aims, wherein it goes by the mission statement as mentioned in its website. The mission statement states "Jesus Christ came to earth to destroy the works of the devil and his blood shed on the cross to redeem humanity and restore the broken relationship with God to come back"
There has been a surge in the number of religious channels worldwide as some religious organizations are trying to influence people to convert to their religion. Such religious channels will propagate the miracles that have been achieved due to prayers and through the services of certain saints and priests who they claim are sent by God to help people on the earth. There have been efforts by many governments to curtail such religious channels as they could lead to communal disharmony in the country, but they have not been successful, as the governments have had to consider the rights and feelings of the people belonging to that religion.
Many communities have noted the fact that these religious channels have been largely successful in converting a large population of people to their religion and this has led to the influx of many religious channels. Many religious channels are broadcasted only through the web and therefore are beyond the reach of many governmental organizations. Some religious channels that have fallen prey to anti-social elements have propagated violence against other communities and have been successful to an extent. However, many governments are now tracking such online channels and are taking them off the internet to help avoid communal issues from developing in the country.
